ELECTROLYTES ARE KEY

On the Whole30, dietary sodium intake typically decreases because you are eating fewer high-sodium processed foods. While Whole30 is not a low-carb diet by design, when you naturally reduce sugar and processed carb intake, your body can lose electrolytes. Salt has unfairly gotten a bad reputation, so many people think that less salt is a great thing. But this misguided nutritional myth might actually be harming your health.

After Whole30, we define Food Freedom as feeling in control of the food you eat, instead of food controlling you. But if you are not paying attention to your daily sodium intake, even the most conscious eaters will remain held back by low energy, lightheadedness, headaches, muscle cramps, or insomnia. That’s why electrolytes are so important.

You know how we were all told that fat was unhealthy for so long? Yeah, sodium is in the same camp. The clinical data actually shows that most of us need more salt (not less). By adding electrolytes into your regimen, you’ll take back your energy and achieve truly healthy hydration – which is essential to finding true Food Freedom.

For a long time, we have recommended LMNT as our go-to electrolyte supplement for folks on Whole30 or those following a similar path towards Food Freedom. Now, we’re thrilled to partner with LMNT in a new way: connecting their #GiveASalt initiative to the organizations & individuals nearest and dearest to the hearts and minds of our Whole30 coaches and leaders.

Life is so much sweeter when you start adding salt. If someone you love is taking all the right nutrition steps, but feel that something is still holding them back, LMNT is likely just the extra charge they need. Everything you need, nothing you don't

We developed LMNT Recharge because we were frustrated with the lack of healthful electrolyte products on the market. We were fielding questions daily from people in our communities struggling to get adequate electrolytes, but could not recommend anything on the market.

The hard truth is that available electrolyte products are high in sugar and woefully lacking in actual electrolytes. Based on the latest nutritional science, getting adequate electrolytes through these products equates to over 100 grams of added sugar per day. We don’t think anyone needs this amount of sugar.

For years our recommended solution was to buy electrolytes in bulk and make your own electrolyte home-brews. After spending too many hours meticulously measuring and mixing our own electrolyte homebrews and getting stopped by airport security one too many times for carrying dozens of baggies full of white powder, LMNT Recharge was born.
